(In Aug 7 story, corrects to 2021 from 2011 in third paragraphand removes incorrect paragraph on Piedmont's supply to Teslarelying partly on Atlantic's Ghana operations) Aug 7 (Reuters) - Atlantic Lithium said onMonday the Africa-focused company was confident of getting alease for a lithium mine in Ghana following the approval of agreen minerals policy by the country's government. The company said the new policy included "changes to themining royalty rate and the state's carried interest in mineralsprojects" and that Atlantic Lithium was in talks with Ghana'sMinerals Commission. In 2021, Piedmont Lithium invested $100 million inthe company to secure spodumene, or high-purity lithium ore,from Atlantic Lithium's mine in Ghana. In March, short seller Blue Orca Capital alleged AtlanticLithium obtained key Ghana mining licenses by making secretpayments. The company had rejected the allegations.
