CSN aims to increase iron ore output to 10mln tonnes per quarter in H2

Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Sider??rgica Nacional (CSN) expects to increase its iron ore production from the third quarter, after transportation issues reduced output in the first six months of the year, the company's chief financial officer, Marcelo Ribeiro, said on Wednesday July 29.

Own output and third-party purchases are estimated to be near the 10-million-tonne quarterly level during the second half of this year, the executive added during the company's second-quarter earnings conference call.
The company's full-year iron ore output guidance for 2020 is 33-36 million tonnes.

CSN's total production - including third-party material - was 13.39 million tonnes in the first half of 2020, down by 32.5% from 19.83 million tonnes a year before, amid logistics issues involving both heavy rainfall and the Covid-19...
