DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Mills pause deep-sea bookings; prices stable

Turkish steel producers have skipped the last day of the week and refrained from any deep-sea purchases, digesting the week's previous transactions, sources said on Friday September 27.

Domestic mills in the country have booked nine deep-sea cargoes so far this week, totaling almost 300,000 tonnes, with the most recent deals booked from the Baltic Sea region.A steel mill in the Izmir region booked a Baltic Sea cargo on Thursday September 27, comprising 30,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $223.50 per tonne and 5,000 tonnes of bonus material at $233 per tonne cfr.Another steel mill in the Marmara region booked a Baltic Sea cargo at $222 per tonne cfr for 38,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) on the same day.Late on September 25, a steel mill in...
