DAILY STEEL SCRAP: Mills continue deep-sea bookings amid improving export sales

Turkish steel producers have continued their deep-sea scrap imports at firm prices thanks to improving demand for long steel products in the country's export markets, sources said on Wednesday October 14.

A steel mill in the Iskenderun region booked a US cargo, comprising 6,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $287 per tonne, 7,000 tonnes of shredded at $292 per tonne and 17,000 tonnes of bonus at $297 per tonne cfr.

This compared with the previous US cargo sold on October 12 at $285 per tonne cfr on an HMS 1&2 (80:20)...
