Turkish steel producers continued to make deep-sea scrap bookings at firming prices on Friday February 26, market sources said.
A steel mill in the Marmara region booked a United Kingdom cargo comprising HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $454 per tonne and shredded and plate and structural (P&S) at $464 per tonne cfr.The same mill also booked a Baltic Sea cargo consisting of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $452.50 per tonne and bonus at $462.50 per tonne cfr.The cargo compositions were not clear at the time of publication.These new transactions compare with the United States and Baltic Sea cargoes booked on Thursday February 25 at $450-454 per tonne cfr on HMS 1&2 (80:20) basis.As a result, the daily scrap indices continued to edge higher at the end of the...
