DAILY STEEL SCRAP: Turkish scrap import prices edge up further with more January cargoes

Turkish steel mills continued their deep-sea scrap bookings for January shipment and prices continued to climb on Friday November 27, supported by strong demand in the country's finished steel markets.

A steel mill in the Izmir region booked a Baltic Sea cargo, comprising 25,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $350.50 per tonne and 7,000 tonnes of bonus scrap at $360.50 per tonne cfr.
And a steel mill in the Iskenderun region booked a European cargo, comprising 8,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $346 per tonne, 4,000 tonnes of bonus at $356 per tonne and 15,000 tonnes of shredded at $360 per tonne cfr.

The previous Baltic Sea deals for HMS 1&2 (80:20) were done at $345-350 per tonne cfr on November 26 (see below).
