DAILY STEEL SCRAP: Weak rebar demand keeps mills out of market

Turkish steel producers continued to avoid deep-sea ferrous scrap bookings due to weak finished steel sales, market sources said on Tuesday April 13.

A steel mill in the Iskenderun region booked a Canadian cargo at the end of the last week comprising 35,000 tonnes of a 95:5 mix of No1 and No2 heavy melting scrap and 15,000 tonnes of shredded at an average price of $436 per tonne cfr, causing daily scrap indices to drop by around $5 per tonne day...
