RAPAPORT... A new De Beers initiative will highlight the positive impact of natural diamonds on the areas in which they are mined.ReSet is a series of collaborations with different jewelry designers who will set diamonds discovered by De Beers into a variety of pieces that will celebrate sustainability in the sector, the miner said Monday. The first partnership, the ReSet Collective, will launch Monday and feature items by US jewelry designers Jade Trau, Jennie Kwon, Julez Bryant, Sara Weinstock and Zo?<< Chicco. The five designers traveled to Botswana toward the end of 2019 to visit De Beers' operations, as well as a number of community and conservation programs the company initiated, which focus on protecting the environment and helping the local community. Each designer then created a pendant inspired by the visit, with the five one-of-a-kind pieces to be auctioned for charity later this year."Through ReSet, we are connecting a community of jewelry designers to the people and places where our diamonds originate, so the designers can learn more about the journey of a De Beers diamond and the positive impact it makes," noted Colby Shergalis, senior vice president of De Beers Group Brand.Image: Jewelry Designer Julez Bryant
