The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a dismal 57-103-134. The TSX Venture Exchange fell seven points to 797 while rough diamond prices were flat this past week. Thomas Yingling's Berkwood Resources Ltd. (BKR), lost one-half cent to 16.5 cents on 1.32 million shares. There has been no news since mid-March, when the company said it had completed a nine-hole drill program at its Lac Gueret South graphite project in Quebec.
Terry Tucker and Samer Khalaf's Tango Mining Ltd. (TGV), unchanged at 3.5 cents on 333,000 shares, is planning a capital investment at its Oena alluvial diamond project in the Orange River district of South Africa. Mr. Khalaf, chief executive officer since last July, says, rather passively, that Tango "has taken a decision" to purchase about $500,000 of equipment, including a 16-foot pan plant and a mobile screening unit. The company will also rent a 40-tonne excavator, two 30-tonne dump trucks and two 2.5-cubic-metre loaders to carry out the excavation and processing of tailings and bantam material left behind by previous operators.
