The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 74-84-132. The TSX Venture Exchange fell four points to 828 while polished diamond prices were flat. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) lost 15 cents to $2.20 on 1.46 million shares. The company has declared another 2.5-cent quarterly dividend thanks to its continued profits from the Karowe mine in Botswana.
Patrick Power and Scott Eldridge's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), down 2.5 cents to 20 cents on 422,000 shares, has found its fourth kimberlite at Timantti, a resurrected diamond project in northern Finland. The new discovery, which the company is calling Grey Wolf, was encountered by digging pits through thin glacial overburden. The first two kimberlites, which were discovered in 2005, were called Black Wolf and White Wolf. The third find, also drilled in 2005 but not classified as a kimberlite until earlier this year, is the unnamed runt of the company's lupus family.
