The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a so-so 82-86-123. The TSX Venture Exchange fell seven points to 886 while polished diamond prices were flat. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) continued its gradual decline, dipping two cents to 59 cents on 912,000 shares. There is nothing new, but the stock, 99 cents last March is at a 52-week low.
Peter Dasler's Canalaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV), up 1.5 cents to 39.5 cents on 71,000 shares, has said little and done less on its diamond project in the Athabasca district of northwestern Saskatchewan since it lost De Beers Canada as a partner in late 2016. Nevertheless, it appears to be keeping the faith, as it quietly added four new claim blocks to the project last month. Three of the new blocks, says Mr. Dasler, president and chief executive officer, are just north of the company's existing claims in the Patterson Lake area, adding that they complement the company's Western Athabasca diamond project.
