The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a rousing 97-59-134. The TSX Venture Exchange gained five points to 833 while polished diamond prices fell 0.2 per cent. Michel Baril and Guy Bourassa's Nemaska Lithium Inc. (NMX) jumped eight cents to $1.39 on 14.34 million shares. There has been no news to account for the activity. Nemaska is inching ahead with its planned lithium mine at Whabouchi in Quebec.
Patrick Power and Scott Eldridge's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), unchanged at 20 cents on 654,000 shares, has discovered another kimberlite on its Timantti diamond property in Finland. The new find, which the company is calling the Vasa dike swarm, was made on the 243-hectare core block of the project using an excavator while digging pits to collect basal till samples. The work exposed two forked kimberlite dikes just over two kilometres north of the Wolf kimberlites. One pit exposed a 1.2-metre wide kimberlite dike, a second pit about 10 metres away produced two forking dikes of similar width. (One fork runs east to west; the other runs north to south.)
