The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a positive 92-84-114. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 13 points to 839 while rough diamond prices were flat. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) poked above the 20-cent mark again today, closing up 2.5 cents to 22.5 cents on 2.04 million shares. The company has no news, but it is one of the few active diamond companies appearing at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada dog and pony show in Toronto, currently under way. Investors are hoping that Star has some good news to share this week.

Lukas Lundin and Eira Thomas's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) regained two cents to $2.13 on 4.09 million shares. The stock jumped over 50 cents to a high of $2.69 last week, on word that Lucara had shuffled its management and was buying a digital platform to market rough diamonds. Since then, the company's shareholders came down with an acute case of buyers' remorse, sending the stock to a two-year low of $2.11 on Friday. Most of the enthusiastic initial on-line chatter centred on the "retirement" of Dr. William Lamb as president and chief executive officer, with Eira Thomas, a successful geologist once dubbed the Queen of Diamonds by fawning business reporters, taking his place. Shareholders have since taken a critical look at Lucara's acquisition of Clara Diamond Solutions Corp.
