The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was an upbeat 89-64-131. The TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 772 while polished diamond prices fell 0.1 per cent. Ken MacNeill and George Read's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) was active, gaining one-half cent to 20 cents on 2.33 million shares. There has been no news since mid-April, but the company and Rio Tinto PLC are expected to start a 10-hole bulk sample of the big Star pipe later this year.
Nick Zeng's Golden Share Resources Corp. (GSH), up one cent to 25 cents on 9,000 shares, has expanded its Ogoki diamond project in Northern Ontario. The company added another 636 hectares spread across two non-contiguous claim blocks to its 2,160-hectare project, which it acquired late in July, 2017. The initial ground was contained in eight claim blocks, also non-contiguous, in the area about 200 kilometres southwest of the Victor diamond mine. (The area centres on Ogoki Post, now a part of the Marten Falls First Nation, where the Ogoki River flows into the Albany River.)
