The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Friday was a mediocre 73-77-144. The TSX Venture Exchange rose fractionally to 772 while polished diamond prices jumped over 1 per cent. Dermot Desmond's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. lost one-half cent to $3.08 on 2.71 million shares. The company will release its quarterly financials next week. Much of the volume occurred in mid-morning, when BMO Nesbitt Burns crossed 2.3 million shares.
Terry Tucker and Samer Khalaf's Tango Mining Ltd. (TGV), unchanged at three cents on 673,000 shares, says that its Oena alluvial diamond project will ramp up its production, now that its partner, Bluedust 7 Proprietary Ltd., has wrapped up its due diligence investigation. The due diligence checks, initially supposed to be finished before the end of 2017, took every day of the two subsequent extensions that Bluedust had requested, but Mr. Khalaf, chief executive officer, says that his partner is "satisfied with" the results.
