(IDEX Online) - The DMCC has opened the Dubai Design Academy (DDA) to increase the standard of jewelry design in the emirate. The Academy will equip students with innovative design development training and practical experience in the latest CAD designing and manufacturing technology.
The DDA has formed an educational partnership with Gemvision USA to offer professional courses for various levels of jewelry professionals and enthusiasts.
"From our engagement with the jewelry sector, we discovered that there was a sizable gap in human capital and a real concern about the talent available in the region to secure its future," explained DMCC executive chairman and chief executive officer Ahmed Bin Sulayem.
He said the Dubai industry hoped that in time the project would supply the market with the professionals it is missing. "With technology, innovation and creativity at its heart, DDA is symbolic of DMCC's approach to supporting trade, and Dubai's approach to business more generally," he added.
