Eldorado GoldCorp. (TSX: ELD; NYSE: EGO)says it has requested a government payment of some $750 million euros fordamages that are the result of delays in permits for the Skouries project. Thepayment does not initial legal proceedings. "The application represents agood-faith attempt to resolve the matter with the Greek state as it relates tocosts incurred resulting from permit delays to our Skouries project,” says GeorgeBurns, president and chief executive officer. He later adds, “We hope that thismatter can be resolved in an amicable manner without needing to go down theroute of arbitration."
