Norway-based silicon and ferro-silicon producer Elkem has opened a new production workshop in Shanghai, China to manufacture specialized silicones for hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs), the company said on Wednesday November 2.
Silicones are high-performance polymers made up of silicon, oxygen and other elements that can include carbon and hydrogen.
