Energy CEO Ross Beaty: Green Energy Is The Future

This week's Conversation That Matters features Ross Beaty who founded more than 12 resource based companies before switching to green power. Beaty discusses why his business focus changed and where he sees the future in energy. Beaty says, "In terms of new power production, in 2014 globally, there's more new power production from renewable sources, than from fossil fuels, which is a very very cool thing. So it's no longer alternative, it's mainstream, it's no longer expensive in all places, it's very much comparable to most other forms of power generation if not cheaper." His companies are in geothermal, wind, solar and run-of-river power generation. He says more money was invested globally in these forms of energy than in new carbon-burning projects in the past year. He points out, however, it is not a glamorous investment, "it's like a utility, it's kind of boring. But it gives you stable and predictable returns."
