Volvo Cars announced on Friday April 17 that it will restart production at its plant in Torslanda, Sweden, on April 20 after several weeks of suspended activity under lockdown measures brought in to help stem the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company closed three sites in Sweden on March 26, which it originally planned to reopen on April 14.
Volvo's plant in Ghent, Belgium, will also reopen on April 20 but with reduced output. The extent to which production will resume has not been specified. The site closed on March 17 and had also been expected to restart on April 14.
The company's engine plant in Sk??vde, and its body-component manufacturing site in Olofstr??m, both in Sweden, will continue to plan their production on a weekly basis, adapting according to the needs in sister plants amid the pandemic.
The company reported continuing discussions with its partners and suppliers to secure its production needs, while supply-chain disruptions were somewhat reduced but persistent. Production volumes in Torslanda will be adjusted to meet fresh market demand while fulfilling existing orders.

Volvo will continue to make use of the support package introduced...
