Automotive manufacturers in Europe have announced temporary production shutdowns at sites throughout the continent, because of the problems being created by the measures taken by governments to restrict the spread of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak.
The latest suspensions followed a
raft of announcements made at the beginning of this week.
Rolls-Royce
UK-based Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will suspend production from March 23 at its Goodwood manufacturing plant in the English county of West Sussex.
The suspension will be followed by a previously scheduled two-week maintenance shutdown over the Easter holiday period.
"This action has not been taken lightly, but the health and well-being of our exceptional workforce is first and foremost in our minds," Torsten M? 1/4 ller- ?-tv??s, the Rolls-Royce chief executive, said on Wednesday March 18.
This stoppage, on top of others, was expected to curb demand in the region for secondary aluminium in the coming weeks.
