EUROPE BEAMS: Prices inch up on improving demand, higher feedstock costs

Steel H-beam prices in Europe moved up on Wednesday July 22, after producers achieved the price increases they had been pushing for over recent weeks, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel beams, domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?530-560 ($608-643) per tonne on Wednesday, up from ?,?520-550 per tonne the week before.
The corresponding weekly price assessment for steel beams, domestic, delivered Southern Europe was ?,?535-560 per tonne on Wednesday, up from ?,?530-545 per tonne one week previous.
Producers have been pushing for price increases of ?,?20 per tonne in recent weeks, with the market beginning to accept these while feedstock costs also move up.
