EUROPE BEAMS: Prices narrow while producers eye increases

The price for steel H-beams in Southern Europe narrowed week on week on Wednesday July 1, despite producers looking to achieve price increases, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel beams, domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?510-550 ($573-618) per tonne on Wednesday, flat week on week.
Feedstock prices have remained largely unchanged over the past month and now some producers say they were looking to test price increases up to ?,?20 per tonne in the coming weeks, while some market sources thought these offers would be accepted, others doubted that they would be achieved, Fastmarkets heard.
