EUROPE BEAMS: Producers look for further price rises

European steel H-beam prices were unchanged week on week on Wednesday April 21, with producers starting a new push for increases, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets assessed the weekly price for steel beams, domestic, delivered Northern Europe, at ?,?750-780 ($903-940) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.
"Exports from the European mills are at a good level. There is currently no reason for reduced expectations on prices," a trader said.

"A few traders are still speculating on falling prices, but they will be disappointed over the summer. Nothing is set in stone but, as things stand, there is only one direction...
