EUROPE BEAMS: Producers set to impose post-summer price rises

The price of steel H-beams in Europe inched up on Wednesday August 26 with producers pushing ahead with previously announced increases, Fastmarkets has heard.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel beams, domestic, delivered Northern Europe, was ?,?535-565 ($632-668) per tonne on Wednesday, up from ?,?530-560 per tonne one week before.
Market participants have slowly started to return to work following the summer holiday period in Europe, although some staff in places such as Italy were still away. Before the holiday pause, producers announced price increases based on good demand and higher feedstock costs.
