EUROPE CRC: Domestic prices rise sharply on shortages, strong demand

Domestic steel cold-rolled coil prices in Europe increased in the week to Wednesday April 7, due to a shortage of materials and strong demand, sources told Fastmarkets.

Sources said they have been struggling to book CRC from domestic producers because they had either held back from trading or claimed to be sold out until end of the third or fourth quarter of the year.

"It is impossible to get CRC from any mill," a trader said. "Buyers are struggling to get material, so they will accept almost any price the mills ask. But there is no downstream products...
