EUROPE HDG: Prices largely stable, but outlook negative

Domestic prices for hot-dipped galvanized coil in Europe were largely unchanged over the past week but they are likely to slide, sources told Fastmarkets MB.

This week, domestic prices for hot-rolled coil - used as feedstock for HDG production - moved down due to competitive import offers and slow trading. As such, HDG prices are expected to mirror the decline, according to market sources.Buyers have been mainly holding back from making purchases in anticipation of a clearer market trend. Mills are expected to negotiate their next long-term contracts with big buyers by the end of this month, and spot buyers...
