EUROPE HRC: Buyers resist producers' attempts to increase prices

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil across Europe were stable day on day on Friday February 5, despite attempts by mills to achieve price rises, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?710 ($851.43) per tonne on Friday, unchanged from Thursday.
The index was down by ?,?2.50 per tonne week on week, but up by ?,?43.75 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Friday's index was based on achievable prices heard at ?,?700-730 per tonne ex-works.
