EUROPE HRC: Domestic price stable at high level on strong demand, low material

The domestic hot-rolled coil price in Northern Europe remained fairly stable on Tuesday February 23 on support from good demand and short supply, sources said.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?726 ($881.07) per tonne on Tuesday February 23, up by ?,?1 per tonne from ?,?725 per tonne on February 22. The index was down by ?,?1.50 per tonne week on week, but up by ?,?14.75 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Tuesday's index was based on achievable prices heard at ?,?720-740 per tonne ex-works and a deal reported at ?,?725 per tonne ex-works.
