EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices continue to rise supported by lack of imports

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil have moved further upward over the past week across Europe, supported by a lack of competitive import offers and a slow revival of demand, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday July 8.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, was calculated at ?,?404.00 ($456.17) per tonne on Wednesday, up by ?,?0.87 per tonne day on day from ?,?403.13 per tonne on July 7.
Wednesday's index was based on deals heard at ?,?400-410 per tonne ex-works. Official offers, in the meantime, have been reported at ?,?420-440 per tonne ex-works.
The index has increased by ?,?4.00 per tonne week on week, and was up by ?,?5.25 per tonne month on month.
