EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices inch up further; mills delay deliveries

A shortage of material in the domestic European hot-rolled coil market, coupled with good demand, supported a slight rise in prices on Friday March 12, sources told Fastmarkets.

Buyers also spoke of deliveries being delayed, adding pressure on the distribution chain.
Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?793.00 ($947.96) per tonne on Friday, up by ?,?1.21 per tonne from ?,?791.79 per tonne on March 11.
The index was also up by ?,?43 per tonne week on week and by ?,?73 per tonne month on month.
