EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices increase in the south

Domestic transaction prices for hot-rolled coil in Southern Europe increased over the week, supported by reduced availability of domestic material and rising import offers, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday December 18.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, domestic, ex-works Southern Europe, was ?,?430-440 ($479-491) per tonne on December 18, up by ?,?10 per tonne week on week from ?,?420-430 per tonne.
The assessment is based on offers and deals heard in the market.
And Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, ex-works Northern Europe was ?,?436.75 ($486.91) per tonne on Wednesday December 18, compared with ?,?436.47 per tonne on Tuesday.
The index was based on deals reported at ?,?430-440 per tonne ex-works. It also reflects the lower end of offers heard at ?,?440 per tonne ex-works.
