EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices jump as buyers struggle to secure volumes

Europe's domestic prices for hot-rolled coil jumped on Tuesday April 6, with a shortage of material prompting buyers to accept prices targeted by mills, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?885.00 ($1,042.59) per tonne on Tuesday April 6, up by ?,?41.67 per tonne from ?,?843.33 per tonne on April 1.
The index was up by ?,?49 per tonne week on week and by ?,?135 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Tuesday's index was based on achievable prices estimated by market sources at ?,?870-900 per tonne ex-works.
