EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices move up, mills expected to raise offers further

Domestic prices for steel hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe increased day on day on Thursday February 25 due to tight supply, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Market participants expected that European steelmakers would increase their offers next week in an attempt to trigger further price rises.
Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?735.00 ($893.19) per tonne on Thursday, up by ?,?4.32 per tonne from ?,?730.68 per tonne on February 24.
The index was also up by ?,?10 per tonne week on week and by ?,?25 per tonne month on month.
