EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices rise above Eur1,000 per tonne in north

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe have gone up to more than ?,?1,000 ($1,212) per tonne ex-works because of the continuing material shortage and strong demand, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?1,007.14 ($1,221.03) per tonne on Friday April 30, up by ?,?18.81 per tonne from ?,?988.33 per tonne on Thursday.
The index was also up by ?,?35.89 per tonne week on week and up by ?,?171.14 per tonne month on month.

Friday's index was based on achievable prices estimated by market sources at ?,?1,000-1,010 per tonne ex-works and offers reported at ?,?1,005-1,020...
