EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices strong on short supply

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe increased day on day on Tuesday February 16, driven by a material shortage, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?727.50 ($882.53) per tonne on Tuesday, up by ?,?9.37 per tonne from ?,?718.13 per tonne on February 15.
The index was also up by ?,?17.50 per tonne week on week and by ?,?11.50 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Tuesday's index was based on achievable prices and transactions heard at ?,?714-740 per tonne ex-works.
