EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices supported by good order books

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil across Europe were fairly stable over the week to Wednesday February 3, supported by good order books among EU steelmakers, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?710.00 ($855.54) per tonne on Wednesday, up by ?,?1.00 per tonne from ?,?709.00 per tonne on February 2.
The index was also up by ?,?1.25 per tonne week on week and by ?,?43.33 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Wednesday's index was based on achievable prices and deals heard at ?,?700-720 per tonne ex-works, bids reported at ?,?690-700 per tonne ex-works and the lower end of official offers heard at ?,?730-750 per tonne ex-works.
