EUROPE HRC: Market flat on lack of firm offers, bullish sentiment

Fastmarkets' daily indices for domestic hot-rolled coil were broadly flat on Thursday April 29 due to lack of actual offers while producers held back volumes for the spot market, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?988.33 ($1,194.67) per tonne on Thursday, up by just ?,?0.83 per tonne from ?,?987.50 per tonne on Wednesday. The index, however, was up by ?,?23.33 per tonne week on week and up by ?,?151.66 per tonne month on month.
Thursday's index was based on the latest offers and achievable prices heard in the market at ?,?980-1,000 per tonne ex-works.
