EUROPE HRC: Material shortage drives domestic prices further upward

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Europe increased again in the week to Wednesday November 18, due to tight supplies, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?537.92 ($638.24) per tonne on Wednesday, up by ?,?8.34 per tonne from ?,?529.58 per tonne on Tuesday.
The index was also up by ?,?13.42 per tonne week on week and by ?,?41.25 per tonne month on month.
Wednesday's index was based on deals heard at ?,?530-540 per tonne ex-works and achievable prices reported at ?,?530-555 per tonne ex-works.
