EUROPE HRC: Material shortage, long lead times to keep prices high

Market sources expect domestic prices for steel hot-rolled coil in Europe to remain strong on support from reduced availability and long lead times, sources told Fastmarkets on Thursday February 18.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?725 ($874.46) per tonne on Thursday February 18, down by ?,?4 per tonne from ?,?729 per tonne on February 17. 
The index was, however, up by ?,?8 per tonne week on week and by ?,?3.75 per tonne month on month.
