EUROPE HRC: Prices keep rising on short supply, high demand; ArcelorMittal prices up again

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in the north of Europe kept increasing on Thursday April 15, driven by persistent shortages, while ArcelorMittal has increased its offer prices again after transaction prices reached its previous target, according to market sources.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?913.33 ($1,092.97) per tonne on April 15, up by ?,?3.33 per tonne from ?,?910.00 per tonne on Wednesday.
The index was up by ?,?18.33 per tonne week on week and by ?,?122.08 per tonne month on month.
Thursday's index was based on market estimates of ?,?900-910 per tonne and achievable prices heard at ?,?920 per tonne.
