EUROPE HRC: Shortages driving record-breaking price rises

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coils across Europe continued to rise on Thursday March 25, amid strong demand and persistently short supplies, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at ?,?821.67 ($971.97) per tonne on Thursday March 25, up by ?,?1.67 per tonne and surpassing March 24's 12-year high of ?,?820.00 per tonne.
The index was also up by ?,?29.17 per tonne week on week and by ?,?86.67 per tonne month on month.
