EUROPE HRC WRAP: Domestic prices continue to rise on lack of material, strong demand

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in the European Union increased in the week to Friday May 21, supported by continuing coil shortages and good demand.

ArcelorMittal increased its coil offer for HRC to ?,?1,150 ($1,401) per tonne on Wednesday May 19, up by ?,?50 per tonne. Cold-rolled and hot-dipped galvanizing coil offers moved up to ?,?1,300 per tonne ex-works.
Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at ?,?1,116.67 per tonne on Friday May 21, up by ?,?27.92 per tonne week on week and by ?,?160.42 per tonne month on month.
