EUROPE HRC WRAP: Prices slide further in north; stable in south

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil have moved further down in Northern Europe yet remained stable in Southern Europe in the week to Friday June 12 amid low market demand, sources said.

Fastmarkets' daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe was calculated at ?,?396.25 ($505.90) per tonne on Friday June 12, down by ?,?2.50 per tonne week on week and by ?,?23.75 per tonne month on month.
Friday's index was calculated based on offers heard at ?,?400-410 per tonne and on bids and "workable" prices heard at ?,?385-395 per tonne.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel HRC, domestic, exw Southern Europe was unchanged from a week earlier at ?,?370-380 per tonne on Wednesday June 10.

Italian mills have been offering HRC at ?,?370-380 per tonne ex-works to the domestic market and at ?,?390-400 per tonne ex-works to Italian buyers for material with higher extras and for base coil in Northern Europe, market sources...
