EUROPE HRC WRAP: Slow demand continues to drag domestic prices down

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Europe continued to slide during the week to Friday June 5 amid low demand.

Fastmarkets' daily steel HRC index, domestic, exw Northern Europe was calculated at ?,?398.75 ($450.26) per tonne on Friday, down by ?,?1.96 per tonne week on week and by ?,?24.25 per tonne month on month.
Friday's index was calculated based on deals and workable prices heard at ?,?400 per tonne ex-works and bids reported at ?,?395 per tonne ex-works.
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel HRC, domestic, exw Southern Europe was ?,?370-380 per tonne on June 3, compared with ?,?370-390 per tonne ex-works a week earlier.
