EUROPE PLATE: Domestic prices rise slightly despite slow market

Domestic prices for heavy steel plate in Europe have moved up slightly this week despite a slowdown in market activity, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday May 2.

"The market is slow because there were [public] holidays in Europe at the beginning of the week, but demand is going to rebound next week," an Italian source said.Plate prices are expected to be supported by a recovery in restocking activity and the effects of a safeguard investigation in the EU, other sources...
