EUROPE PLATE: Italian re-rollers seek plate price rise

Italian re-rollers have raised their offer prices for heavy steel plate this week to reflect higher steel slab costs, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday July 8.

At the end of last week, Italian re-rollers were offering plate at ?,?405-415 ($457-469) per tonne ex-works, but they have increased their prices to ?,?430-440 per tonne ex-works for August-delivery plate, market sources said.

Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel domestic plate, 8-40mm, exw Southern Europe, was ?,?415-430 per tonne on July 8, up by ?,?5 per tonne week...
