EUROPE REBAR: Prices flat as trading begins to slow in some regions

Steel rebar prices in Europe have remained fairly stable over the past week with trading activity starting to scale back in some regions for the seasonal summer slowdown, sources told Fastmarkets on Wednesday July 15.

In Southern Europe, trading activity was moderate this week, with rebar prices holding firm, sources said.
They added that producers this year might take shorter-than-usual summer holidays in August "to recover some tonnages lost during [the Covid-19 pandemic] lockdown."
Fastmarkets' weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, remained at ?,?425-435 ($483-495) per tonne on Wednesday.
The assessment was based on deals and offers heard in the market.
