EUROPE SECTIONS: Feedstock shortage continues to push prices up

Prices for steel hollow sections in Europe increased further in the week to Wednesday March 31 following additional increases to feedstock costs, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?920-950 ($1,079-1,115) per tonne on Wednesday, up from ?,?890-920 per tonne one week previous.
"Prices went through the roof. Now, it's name a price. We are on the busy side of normal but there are gaps in stock," a distributor said.
