EUROPE SECTIONS: Market quiet on summer break

Hollow steel sections prices in Europe were flat on Wednesday July 29 with the market experiencing its usual summer slowdown, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets' price assessment for steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Northern Europe was ?,?540-560 ($620-642) per tonne on Wednesday, unchanged week on week.
Fastmarkets' weekly steel sections (medium), domestic, delivered Southern Europe assessment was ?,?550-560 per tonne on Wednesday, flat since the previous assessment.
Many market participants in Europe are already on their summer break, which is keeping trading at a minimum, and mills usually close for several weeks to carry out maintenance, sources said.
